Dollar Tree Sunny D Trip

So my family and I are now home from a work weekend on the hunting property my husband belongs to and today I decided to head out and use my Sunny D coupons as they all expire this week and I work the remainder of the week so I will not have time to use them before they are up.

I decided to go to Dollar Tree to grab the Sunny D because they are just $1 plus I wanted to test out using internet prints at the store and make sure it all went smooth. I figure I would not have any issues and not have anything to report but boy was I wrong. I had 6 printable’s for $0.55/2 Sunny D that ran not long ago and I posted about. Policy says they will only take 2 per transaction. So my poor husband went first with his 4 bottles and 2 coupons in hand and she gave him his total he gave her the coupons and the cashier hollers accross the store to the manager stocking the shelf “Are these ok!” The manager says “NO we don’t take internet coupons!” I of course go in my policy mode and say “Yes sorry but you do you take 2 per transaction.” Her response “NO we only take manufacture coupons” Ok I am sorry but these are manufacture coupons I tell her and again I get “but we don’t take the kind you print” She comes walking over and proceeds to point to the policy hanging to “Show” me where it says this and I right away beat her to it and said “Ma’am right here #3 of the policy says clearly you take 2 internet printable’s per transaction he is using 2 and 2 only so according to your policy that is ok she responds “WELL IT IS WRONG OUR COMPANY DON’T WANT US TO TAKE THEM!”

I responded nicely ” Well I am sorry the policy says they do and until it says differently you as of right not accept them”  She knew I was right and told the cashier to take them today but she just knew they were not going to honor them, and she would call and find out tomorrow. She ripped the policy’s down from all the registers and put them in their office. I had to laugh because I guess that was her way of not being shown she was wrong for any future purchases.

I continued to check my other bottles out 4 at a time and when I was done politely said thank you and to have a nice day.The cashier told me to do the same as I got the evil looks then whispers from the manager as I went out the door and to my car where  my husband told me I handled it very well and he was glad I was there because he had no idea what was going on. I was a bit worried I may have been rude but he told me I was very nice to her and she was the one who was not properly talking to me and should have been nicer about it.

Anyhow I know that Dollar Tree is only a week into taking coupons and this is my first issue I have had. I have been to 2 other Dollar Tree’s during this week one in Cape Horn and one in Cambridge Md and had NO issues whatsoever and the cashiers actually loved that I was getting the deals I got and wanted to know “how I do it” but this one at this location in York was not so friendly. Grant it they probably don’t know the ins and outs of everything yet but when they have the policy in plain site and can see what it says they do and do not take it really should not be this hard. So my point is in all this make sure you print your policys for everystore and put them in your binder and have them with you for situations like this. I knew Dollar Tree had theirs posted in the store for now so I did not take mine in but now I caused a ruckus and this particular store has removed theirs so make sure you have yours on hand. You can grab Dollar Trees off their site so you are ready!
