So yes I could not go shopping without stopping at Weis. I had to grab more of those Mini Wheats even though I only used the $1/2 coupons making them $1.50 a box its still an ok deal for me plus my Minute Maid free coupon came from My Coke rewards and I wanted more juice boxes for my lil guys lunch box tomorrow.
So I got these items and paid a total of $8 for all of it….what are the Apple pies you ask? Well that is the little Weis secret not everyone knows about. About 2 years ago before I even knew anyone who worked in the store and before I really got into couponing as seriously as I am now I asked the cashier why the little baskets were at the end of the register’s all the time with something cheap in them to buy and their response was each cashier gets the basket of goodies and whoever sells the most at the end of each week gets a reward from Weis. Its been said that sometimes they get a $15 store gift card! Great deal to me!
So now that i know this I always try to grab one or two of what is in the basket to help them out plus it helps me out because I make it a point to pick up the item and say to them “I hope this helps you out this week ” or “how many are you up to” I am pretty sure it is a secret with Weis and we are not supposed to know this but I am glad I do because when I have a huge stack of coupons sometimes they really do not like me but when they see I help them they tend to be more pleasant to me so we all make out in the long run.
So next time you shop at Weis think about your cashier and if they look like they are having a rough day or need a pick me up grab something out of their box and help them out. Trust me they will remember you.
