Recently Pa Coupon Family was selected to receive and review the famous Fountain Jet soda maker that is now out in stores for sale. We have had this for a little over a month now and after some negative and positive experiences I am finally ready to give you my thoughts on this nifty little item.
When this arrived I was impressed with the large box and could not believe how heavy it was! Once I dug into it with 4 kids eagerly watching to see what we got on the big brown truck I found out why it was so heavy. They not only sent me the machine but also TONS of syrup to make these sodas! Seriously we are going to be making soda for a long time. They included flavors I would never imagine for soda such as Grapefruit! Have you ever had that? I am honest I have not braved it yet myself but will in time.
We unpacked the machine and went to the table to set it up and get started. I read all the instructions and thought I had it figured out because its really not that complicated. I put the bottle under pushed the button and water flew EVERYWHERE!!! All over me all of the instructions and all over the table. What did I do wrong? What is wrong with this thing this cannot be right!!?? I cleaned up and tried to read the instructions again and low and behold you have to screw the bottle onto the machine not just hold it there! Imagine that! LOL So I screwed it on and tried again pushed 3 times took it off added syrup and EWWWW flat soda! So we tried again and again seriously till it had some fizz. I found out that it says hold the button in with 3 quick pushes and a loud noise well to me I did that but apparently did not hold it in long enough so once I held it in longer there was a loud noise and when I unscrewed it there was a Phizzzzzz sound which told me our soda was no longer flat!
We added syrup tried it again and it was perfect! My kids LOVE this. Hunter our 7 year old said “WOW we don’t have to pop open those soda cans anymore mom!” Everyday when he comes home from school he is ready to make a new soda. I do think his favorite it Root Beer. And his second favorite of all flavors is Diet Cranberry!
To be honest I probably would not have bought one of these on my own because I would not have believed it to work and be worth it but after testing it and seeing how well it works I highly recommend you getting one if you are a soda drinker! I really like that it does not take up a lot of space, dont need a plug and does not need batteries. How often do you find something like that anymore these days. Plus there is no technical gumbo you have to learn to get it to work seriously just make sure you screw the bottle onto the machine before hitting the button. Sometimes I cannot even get the microwave to come on with all its buttons! So this is just perfect!
